Biography: Theodosia Spring Chapman was born on 25 May 1840 in Lewisham, the daughter of the Hon. Stephen Spring Rice and Ellen Mary (née Frere). She was the grand-daughter of the first Baron Monteagle and sister of the second Baron Monteagle. In 1872, she married the Rev. Edward William Chapman and the couple had several children. She died on 6 July 1920 in Carshalton.
