Author: Anna M. De Jongh (1809–1885)

Biography: Anna Maria De Jongh was born in 1809 in Liverpool, the daughter of merchant and factory owner Maurice de Jongh. As a child the family moved to the Alsace. In the 1870s, she moved back to the Manchester area and wrote several novels. She died in Knutsford in 1885.
