Biography: Sarah Louisa Morewood was born on 9 January 1867 in Willesden, the daughter of artist William Gordon Morewood and his wife Anna (née Christmas). An artistic family, she was related to Landseer. She studied art herself and first worked for the Salvation Army's War Cry as a young woman, a connection she maintained until the end of her life. Under the pseudonym "Noel Hope" she wrote novels, stories, and serials. A long-term resident of Ealing, she was a noted person in her community and her church parish. A writer to the end, she turned in the final installment of a serial story three days before her death. Morewood died on 1 September 1950 in Ealing.
