Author: William Mullinger Higgins (1808–1882)
Biography: William Mullinger Higgins was born in 1808 in Chatham, the son of a woollen draper. He studied for the bar but turned to science and engineering where he wrote works on architecture, geology, sound, and mining. In addition, he wrote a historical novel, Aristomenes: A Grecian Tale (1838). He married and had at least two sons. In 1881, he lived in Wales where he apparently died the following year.
