Author: Barbara Gunn (1837–1906)
Biography: Barbara M. S. Gunn was born in Inverness, Scotland, in 1837, the daughter of army officer William Gunn and Janet Bruce. Her father died during her childhood and by 1861 she was living with her widowed mother Janet Gunn and five siblings in Glasgow. She wrote the single novel, Florian's Husband (1863). She never married and lived with her elder sister Letitia M. Gunn for several decades in Edinburgh. She died on 20 December 1906 in Edinburgh.
