Author: Annie Louise Gee (born 1865)

Biography: Annie Louise Gee was born in 1864 in Lambeth, the middle child of music professor Samuel Gee. As a child, the family moved to Leek, Staffordshire. By the 1890s, she was working as a teacher and writing novels for the S. P. C. K. Her sister Bertha Gee married the building society manager Sir Enoch Hill. Gee followed her sister to Halifax some time in the twentieth century. She never married and died there in 1921.
