Author: Henry William Dulcken (1832–1894)
Biography: Henry William Dulcken was born in 1832 in London, the son of German pianist Marie Louise Dulcken (died 1850). He earned an M.A. and Ph.D. degrees (presumably from German universities). He lived in London where he worked as a translator (notably of Hans Christian Andersen), a publisher's reader for Ward and Lock, an author of fairy tales, and an educator. In 1857, he married Georgina Mary Cunningham and the couple had nine children. He died suddenly on 4 February 1894 at his home in London.
