Biography: Alfred Owen Legge was born in 1835 in Fakenham. He worked as a young man for Mudie's Select Library. He wrote a single novel Manslaughter (1878) published under the pseudonym "Augustus Stawel." In addition, he wrote several biographies. He died in 1897.
