Author: John T. Collier (1855–1931)

Biography: John Thomas Collier was born around 1855 in Co. Cavan, Ireland. His early life cannot be traced. He studied medicine and practiced as a physician in Lincoln. In 1883, he married Melinda Moore and the couple had no children. Collier found time to write a novel, Lieutenant Mary (1886), which centers on a doctor's daughter joining the Salvation Army. Late in life, he retired to Hove where he died on 17 November 1931.
