Biography: Edwin William Wynne Pettitt was born on 16 February 1818 in Birmingham, the son of Charles Pettitt and his wife Sarah. Civil engineer. He trained and worked as a civil engineer. Under the pseudonym "Herbert Glyn" he wrote two novels: The Cotton Lord (1862) and Uncle Crotty's Relations (1863). He married twice: first to Sarah Aston and second to Lucy Jane Hart. He died on 8 February 1880 in Birmingham.
