Author: Edmund Forbes (1874–1935)

Biography: Edmund Forbes was born on 23 May 1874 in London, the son of David Forbes. He attended Exeter College, Oxford where he coxed his college eight in 1896. After university he traveled widely in Siam, the Malay States, China, and Japan with the view of writing a book. In addition, he wrote the single novel, Red Fate (1901). On his return to England, he settled in Tunbridge Wells. In 1907 he married Ethel Constance Evans and the couple had two children. An ardent dog lover, he helped to found his local Canine Society and exhibited his Wire Haired Fox terriers. He died on 9 September 1935 in Tunbridge Wells.
