Author: Elizabeth Anne Maling (1829–1866)

Biography: Elizabeth Anne Maling was born in 1829 in Abberley, Worcestershire, the daughter of naval officer Thomas James Maling and Jemima Bromley. Her father's first wife was Harriet Darwin, the sister of Charles. She was the cousin of the Marquis of Normanby. Maling was a noted horticulturalist and she wrote several books on gardening, flower arranging, and birdkeeping. In addition, she wrote the single work of fiction, Cragstone Cottage: or, Life in the Country (1862). In 1865, she married the Austrian count Alexander Maurice Vandalin Mniszeck. It appears she died the next year.
