Biography: May (or Mary) Bradley was born in 1875 in Liverpool, the daughter of American leather merchant William T. Bradley and his wife Elizabeth. Just out of her teens, she wrote a novel Craiktrees (1897) under the pseudonym "Watson Dyke." She followed with several others over the years while working as a journalist. She never married and lived with family for most of her life. She died in 1949 in Aysgarth, Yorkshire.
