Author: Eleanor Luisa Haverfield (1870–1945)

Biography: Eleanor Luisa Haverfield was born on 18 August 1870 in Callander, Scotland, the daughte of Major J. T. Haverfield, R. M. L. I. As a young woman, she began writing fiction for young adults. In addition, according to her obituary, she was a gifted artist and wood carver. During her long residence in Peaslake, Haverfield took a great interest in local village activities and organizations. She died on 7 February 1945.
