Biography: Elizabeth Hodgson was born about 1802, the second daughter of Lord Denman, Lord Chief Justice of England. In 1838, she married clergyman Francis Hodgson, sometime Archdeacon of Derby and Provost of Eaton. Relatively late in life she wrote the single novel Chequered Shade (1870). She died on 2 August 1880 in Brighton.
