Biography: Joseph McKim was born around 1855 in Co. Sligo, Ireland. His early life cannot be traced. He attended Trinity College Dublin where he earned a B.A. and won a poetry prize. By 1881, he was married and working as a schoolmaster in Altrincham. That same time, he turned to literature, writing several books for children and a collection of poetry. Notably, he won a song writing competition in 1903. In the 1890s, he took holy orders and served in Swinhope, Lincolnshire. He died on 1 February 1933 in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.
