Author: William B. Stabb (1846–1915)
Alternate Name(s): T. U. (pseudonym)
Biography: William Jonas Barter Stabb was born on 6 February 1846 in St. John's, Newfoundland, the son of master mariner William Stabb and his wife Sarah. His uncle was the eminent medical pioneer Henry Hunt Stabb. The Stabb family was involved in the sealing industry. Stabb himself became a clerk and accountant. In addition, he wrote three novels set in Newfoundland under the pseudonym "T. U." since he was so critical of St. John's society. The latter two novels were self published in London. He married and had two children. His end is a bit hard to trace, but it appears he died on 1 June 1915 in Manitoba.
