Author: Jane Christmas (1813–1876)

Biography: Jane Christmas was born on 12 November 1813 in London, the daughter of Robert Noble Christmas and Jane Fearn. Her brother was the Rev. Henry Christmas (later Noel-Fearn), the author and editor of various religious periodicals. In her childhood, her father moved to Taunton where he was a surveyor of roads. She wrote the single novel Glendearg Cottage (1846) and the religious work The Youth's Safeguard (1853). She never married and died in 1876 in Bath. She was the first cousin of novelist Joseph Fearn.
