Author: John W. Kirton (1831–1892)

Biography: John William Kirton was born on 3 January 1831 in London. He trained as a Baptist minister and dedicated himself to temperance work. He was also a prolific author of religious fiction and nonfiction with his best known work the short story "Buy your own Cherries" (1863). He died on 16 June 1892 in Hornsey after a short illness.
