Biography: Clara Lavinia Corfield was born in 1846 in Broughton, Hampshire, the daughter of clergyman Frederick Corfield and his wife Sarah Weller Channer. At the time of her birth, her father was the rector of Temple Crone, Co. Donegal, the name of which she will fashion into her pseudonym. In her twenties, she began writing fiction for young adults under the pseudonym "Crona Temple" producing sixteen titles in twenty years. She never married and lived in various places over her life including Derbyshire, Wales, Scotland, and the London area. In several censuses, she is living with a long-time companion Jane R. Masterman. Corfield died on 21 April 1916 in London.
