Biography: Francesca Henrietta Wilson was born on 17 December 1835 in Bradford, the daughter of Rear Admiral Sir Thomas Fellowes. In 1856, she married army officer Charles Harry Wilson and the couple had eight children. They spent most of their married life in India. She found time to write two books aimed at young adult reader, one fiction and one nonfiction. She died of heart disease on 30 April 1890 in Tamil Nadu, India.
