Author: Charles Anderson (1827–1893)
Biography: Charles Anderson was born in 1827 in London, the son of William Anderson of Old Steyne, Brighton. He attended King's College London and Caius College, Cambridge (B.A. 1854, M.A. 1864) before being ordained. He served as curate of St. Paul's, Brighton, curate of St. Anne's, Soho, and vicar of St. John's, Limehouse. In addition to a few religious works, Anderson wrote the novel The Curate of Shyre (1875). He never married and died on 26 March 1893 in Limehouse.
