Author: Louisa Emily Dobrée (1852–1915)
Biography: Louisa Emily Dobrée was born on 9 February 1852 in Tours, the daugher of James Dobrée and Bridget Armstrong. She began her literary career at a young age, her first story being published as a teenager. In addition to religious and nonfiction works, she wrote several works of fiction. In 1887, she converted to Roman Catholicism and became the Rome correspondent for several newspapers. She never married. Late in life she retire to a convent in Clevedon. Sadly, Dobrée died as the result of a house fire on 7 February 1915 in Clevedon.
