Author: Francis Drew Bickerstaffe Drew (1858–1928)
Biography: Francis Drew Bickerstaffe Drew was born in 1858 in Yorkshire, the son of clergyman Harry Lloyd Bickerstaffe and the novelist Mona Brougham Bickerstaffe. He was educated at Lichfield Grammar School and Oxford University. In 1879, he converted to Roman Catholicism and added "Drew" to his surname. He subsequently studied for the priesthood and was ordained in 1884. Drew joined the Army Chaplains' Department and later became the senior chaplain of the forces at Bulford. In addition to religious works, he also wrote several novels with a decidedly religious theme beginning with Two Fair Ladies (1879). He died on 3 July 1928 in Salisbury.
