Biography: Edward Geroge Hunt was born about 1826 in Dawlish, the son of army officer Richard Burges Hunt. He was educated at Winchester and Exeter College, Oxford (B.A. and M.A.) before being ordained. He served as a curate in Kingston before being vicar of Plympton St. Mary and long-time vicar of Bampton. In 1853, he married Elizabeth Jones and couples had a large family of ten children. Somehow he found the time to write a novel The Music of a Merry Heart (1886) under the pseudonym "Edward Le Clerc." He died on 18 May 1895 while visiting Bournemouth.
