Author: Sydney George Boyle Lawrence (1869–1952)
Biography: Sydney George Boyle Lawrence was born in 1869 in London. He was a man of many occupations and interests: newspaper editor, dramatic critic, author, playwright, producer, and poet in addition to interests in Conservative politics, motor cars, and rowing. Lawrence served in the armed forces during the First World War and worked as a fire-watcher and firefighter in the second. He married twice and had several children. Lawrence died after a brief illness in 1952 in Bromley.
