Author: A. M. Donelan (1840–1909)
Alternate Name(s): Anna Maria Donelan (legal name)
Biography: Anna Maria Donelan was born in 1840 in Barmeath, the daughter of Malachy Donelan. She was educated at the Lorento Convent in Dublin. She then, soon after, wrote three novels, none of which made much mark. Donelan then took an interest in Catholic education so she studied briefly at the Training College for Women Teachers in Cambridge before setting up her own residence for Catholic students. The enterprise, though successful, only lasted six years. She then moved back to Dublin where she died on 19 April 1909. Note: no certain proof she is the author, but highly probable.
