Biography: Nannie Olivia Foster Barham was born on 25 October 1851 in Baltimore, the daughter of Hugh Howard Ellis. She was the granddaughter and heiress of Baltimore millionaire William C. Conine. On 30 December 1872, she married Alkman Henryson Foster Barham, the British vice consul of Pau, France. The couple had four children. Barham wrote the single novel, Off with the Old Love (1889). She died suddenly after a long illness on 9 July 1910 in Paris. At her death, she left an estate of over a million dollars to her three surviving children.
