Biography: Frances Elizabeth Georgina Brock was born about 1828 in St. Pater, Guernsey, the daughter of army officer Henry Baynes. Her father served in the Royal Artilllary and saw action in the Peninsular campaign and at Waterloo. She married clergyman Carey Brock, the rector of St. Peter and later Dean of Guernsey, and the couple had several children. Brock was a novelist, hymn writer, and translator. She died on 30 December 1906 at St. Martin's, Guernsey.
