Biography: Louisa Anne Brock was born around 1824 in Naples, the daughter of John Langa Maingay and his wife Mary Durand. The family moved to Guernsey where she married clergyman Henry Frederick Brock in 1848. The couple had a large family and lived in Alton before settling in Doncaster where her husband was a vicar. As a wife, Brock wrote two books of religious fiction as well as a few shorter religious works. She died on 27 October 1878 in Doncaster.
