Author: Lady Emily Harriet Pepys (1829–1891)

Biography: Lady Emily Harriet Pepys was born in 1829 in London, the daughter of lawyer and judge Charles Christopher Pepys and his wife Caroline Elizabeth Wingfield-Baker. Her father served twice as Lord High Chancellor and was named 1st Earl of Cottenham. Notably, her first cousin Emily Pepys (1833–1877) wrote a diary as a child which includes the elder Pepys. She never married. In middle age, she wrote two short tales joinedly published as Neighbourly Love (1867). She died on 10 February 1891 in London.
