Biography: Anna Bliss Frances Spencer was born on 31 March 1826 in Edmonton, the only child of clergyman John Leigh Spencer and his wife Catherine Elizabeth Spencer (née Goldhawk). In her twenties, Spencer turned her hand to fiction writing two novels beginning with The Co-Heiress of Willingham (1854). Her mother would also later publish a novel. After the death of her parents, she married George Stone in 1866. Thereafter her life cannot be traced. She died on 25 May 1901 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France.
