Author: Eleanor Percy Geary (1841–1922)

Biography: Eleanor Percy Geary was born in 1841 in Clifton, the youngest daughter of estate agent James Geary. From a young age she worked as a teacher, described as a "professor of languages" in the 1861 census, and later she worked as a governess. She made one foray into authorship with the juvenile novel Elsie's Victory (1876). In later life she lived in Christchurch then Bournemouth. She never married and died on 1 January 1922 in Bournemouth.
